Tom Edmond Ltd was established in Auckland in 1983 by Tom and Betty Edmond, and now trades under the name Edmond Air.
After serving his time in Edinburgh as an insulation engineer and working on projects all around the UK, Tom answered an ad from Fletcher Construction and moved the young family out to Auckland in 1967. It was while working at Fisher and Paykel Engineering that Tom became involved with the installation of some of the earliest air conditioning systems in New Zealand. This led to Tom going into business for himself as a contract installer of air conditioning and ventilation systems. A natural progression into sales followed and Tom Edmond Ltd was formed as a Carrier dealership initially based in Milford.
Through a combination of hard work, commitment and an “anything is possible” attitude, Tom steadily grew the business and moved to our current location at 48 Drake Street, Freemans Bay in 1985.
Tom’s son Anthony joined the business in 1994. By this time dealerships had been secured with Panasonic, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi Electric and Daikin to sell the latest technology systems out of Japan.
Dennis Armatage came on board in 2007, bringing a great deal of expertise in the servicing and installation of commercial air conditioning and ventilation systems.
Today, Edmond Air offers a complete air conditioning solution from design, sales and installation to service and maintenance. Our staff are dedicated to providing a high quality, personalized service to all of our clients.
